The Ogdensburg Maples and the Brockville Bunnies combined to play three outstanding 19U Baseball games staged on Wednesday and Sunday.
On Wednesday the Bunnies handed the Maples their first loss of the summer in a 4-2 decision in Brockville. In a Sunday twinbill at Father Martin Park the Maples handed Brockville its first loss in 28 games in a classy 3-2 10 inning decision and the visiting Bunnies rebounded to win the nightcap 13-6.
The Maples win on Sunday featured an outstanding pitching duel between Ogdensburgs Breton LaRose and Potsdams Will Coleman.
You always become a better player and more importantly a better team when you play programs like Brockville which has players from all over the North Country and Canada,

We hada nice three game set with Brockville. Just a classic first game on Sunday which was a 3-2 win in 10 innings. Breton LaRose was outstanding as was Will Coleman.
Brockville 4 - Maples 2: Brockville struck for three runs in the first inning and one n the third and received an offensive spark from the Potsdam combination of Ben Miller who singled and doubled and Will Coleman who doubled and pitched the final two innings for a save.
Kinnon LaRose struck out four and gave up four hits in three innings and Geoff Badlwin struck out three in pitching three hitless innings.
Breton LaRose rapped a two-run double in the second inning and Lefty Arsenault, Baldwin, Andrew Cole and DaKota Brady all singled.
Maples 3 - Brockville 2: Breton LaRose struck out 10 and allowed four hits in eight innings and Geoff Baldwin allowed two hits and picked up the win in two innings of relief.
Will Coleman of Potsdam pitched all 10 innings for Brockvcille allowing four hits and striking out eight.
The Maples escaped bases-loaded joepardy in the ninth inning and denied the Bunnies who placed runners on second and third with no outs in the 10th.
DaKota Brady singled in the bottom of the 10th and scored the game-winner from first on a line drive to right centerfield by Seth Pinkerton.
Jon Tayler reached on an error in the third inning and scored on a Bryant Wentworth single. Pinkerton answered an unearned Brockville run in the top of the eighth inning by drawing a walk, racing to around to third on a sacrfice butnby Pat Cosmo and scoring on an errant throw.
Pinkerton also singed in the game where Bryant Wentworth and Kinnon LaRose singled and Coleman singled and doubled for Brockville.
Brockville 13 - Maples 6: Potsdams Will Coleman singled twice for Brockville which broke a way from a 6-6 tie with seven runs in the fifth inning.
Alex Hayes, Jordan Miller (LP), Andrew Cole and Lefty Arsenault all pitched for the Mapkes and Arsenault led the offense with a triple, a double, a single, two runs scored and an RBI.
Cole doubled and singed and Pat Cosmo and DaKota Brady added singles.
