Maloney repeats as golf challenge winner

The long overdue first hole-in-one did materialize but a bit of history was noted at the Seaway Festival Oswegatchie Golf Challenge on Sunday.

Katie Maloney settled a five wood two-feet from the pin to become first repeat overall winner in the event’s history. Joe Koscale took Men’s Division honors at 3’ 6.5”, Cathy Otis prevailed in the Women’s Division at 24’ 8” and Hayden Ives paced the Youth Division at 14’ 8”.

Maloney received $100 as the overall winner and the first four places in Men’s, Women’s Youth Division received $50, $25, $15 and $10.

A total of 128 participants teed it up at Trafalgar Park for the shot at a green in Crescent Park at the other side of the Oswegatchie River. The Ogdensburg Lions Club coordinates the event and reports that $927 was raised for the Seaway Festival.

Overall Winner: Katie Maloney 2”.

Men’s Division: Joe Koscale 3’ 6.5”, Brian Wood 4’ 5.5”, Bill Hosmer 5’ 2”, Scott Wright 7’ 4.5”.

Women’s Division: Cathy Otis 24’ 8”, Shannon Demers 45’, Jean Bracy 50’, Danielle Power 70’.

Youth Division: Hayden Ives 14’ 8”, Cody Wright 24’ 9.5”, Jacob Awan 42’, Nick Demers 66’.
