CLAYTON — The Clayton Improvement Association’s board of directors has named Kristi P. Dippel — head of Clayton’s Local Development Corp. — as the nonprofit’s next leader.

Michael P. Bristol, vice president of the association board, said that Ms. Dippel has done an “outstanding job for the LDC” and that the Clayton Improvement Association is thrilled to hire her as its new executive director.

“This is a great opportunity that I am really looking forward to. I’m so glad that both organizations were able to put this together. It’s very important to me that the CLDC will be able to keep doing some of the wonderful projects that they have become known for,” Ms. Dippel said in a news release.

She has served as Clayton LDC’s executive director since 2010 and would continue her involvement with the corporation “on a contract basis,” according to the release.

Ms. Dippel’s predecessor, Susan J. Farmer, was fired recently by the nonprofit’s board of directors. Both parties have declined to comment on the circumstances surrounding Ms. Farmer’s termination because of pending legal matters.
