Two men held in Alex Bay burglary

ALEXANDRIA BAY — Two men face felony charges in connection with an incident in which more than $5,000 in military gear was stolen from a Church Street residence.

Joseph M. Hunt, 19, Building 10642, Room 214, Fort Drum, was charged by village police with second-degree burglary, a Class C felony. Tyler J. Carman, 21, of 2 Walton St., was charged with criminal possession of stolen property, a Class D felony.

A joint investigation by village police and military police revealed that Mr. Hunt entered the residence and took the military gear from an unidentified victim, police said. The gear was recovered at Mr. Carman’s home, police said.

Both men were arraigned in Alexandria Bay Village Court. Mr. Hunt was held at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building, Watertown, on $2,500 bail, while Mr. Carman was kept on $2,000 bail.
