UNLICENSED OPERATION - POTSDAM - Village police ticketed Nathan D. Lightfoot, 24, of Massena for unnecessary noise - horn/tires, operation of a vehicle with an inadequate exhaust and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle at 12:59 a.m. Saturday following a traffic stop on Market Street. Polce said they observed Lightfoot turn off Market Street onto Elm Street and accelerate rapidly, causing the tires to lose traction and squeal. Patrol also observed the vehicle to have unreasonably loud exhaust. Police said he was subsequently charged with unlicensed operation after a DMV check of his NYS Permit showed it to be expired.



DWI - POTSDAM - Village police charged Robert A. Sanderson, 41, of Canton with driving while intoxicated and ticketed him for failure to keep right, unsafe backing and driving a motor vehicle on the sidewalk at 2:29 a.m. Saturday following a traffic stop on Depot Street.

He was arraigned iby Potsdam Village Justice Nicholas Pignone and sent to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility with bail set at $5,000 cash or $10,000 bond.

Police said they observed a vehicle traveling backwards in reverse in the wrong lane of travel and on the sidewalk on Depot Street at a high rate of speed. Police said Sanderson was taken in to custody and processed at Potsdam P.D., where he refused to submit to a chemical test to determine his blood alcohol content.



STOP SIGN - POTSDAM - Village police ticketed Derek P. Regan, 26, of Potsdam for a stop sign violation at 2:14 p.m. Saturday following a traffic stop near Waverly at Munson Street.

1052 Property damage accident at Parkway Express on Elm Street. Patrol dispatched. Suspect vehicle left the scene prior to patrols arrival. Vehicle is described as a gray Dodge Dakota being operated by a white male with a white male passenger.. If anyone has any information, please contact Potsdam Police at 315-265-2121.

1107 Traffic stop initiated on Market Street. A verbal warning was issued

1208 Potsdam Rescue dispatched - male possible stroke

1414 Traffic stop initiated on Sandstone Drive. Ticket issued.

1438 Potsdam Rescue and Patrol dispatched to Bay Street - female not feeling well

1504 A large amount of construction material observed in the Market Street/Sandstone intersection. Property was removed and owner located.

1901 Report of two dogs left in a vehicle with the windows up. Patrol dispatched. Vehicle was gone upon arrival.

2247 Received complaint of credit card fraud. Patrol responded.

2253 Received report of domestic dispute. Patrols responded.

2258 Received report of larceny of gas from a business. Patrol responded.
