CONSPIRACY - MASSENA - Village police charged Joshua J. Liebstein, 17, of 124 New York Ave., Ogdensburg, with fifth-degree conspiracy and making a false written statement at 9:10 p.m. Sunday. The charges stemmed from an investigation into a shoplifting incident April 24 at the Massena Walmart. Police said the charges stemmed from an incident into a shoplifting incident that led to the arrest last week of Brian L. Middlemiss, 28, of 426 Clark St., Massena, with two counts of fourth-degree grand larceny and one count of petit larceny by village police at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday. Police said Liebstein initially told police he had been told by his father to drive Middlemiss to the Walmart and was not aware of his plans. But they said their investigation revealed Liebstein has served as a lookout while Middlemiss was on his shoplifting escapade. They said Liebstein requested he be paid for driving Middlemiss to the store with a queen mattress cover and a sound bar that had been shoplifted from Walmart.

BENCH WARRANT - MASSENA - Village policed picked up Alan M. Green, 21, of 54 McCluskey Ave., Massena, at 6:15 p.m. Saturday on a bench warrant alleging he had failed to appear as directed in village court on a pending disorderly conduct charge. He was arraigned on the warrant by Massena Town Justice Gerald P. Sharlow and released after posting $200 bail. Green had been charged with disorderly conduct at 12:50 a.m. Oct. 31 after police responded to a report of a large fight on the front lawn at 276 Main St. Police said they observed Green was part of the Fray and then saw him run back to a vehicle carrying a metal socket wrench. They said Green failed to comply with requests to stop screaming obscenities and was charged with the violation. Following his arraignment, he was turned over to state police on a pending petit larceny count from the town of Potsdam.

NO SEATBELT - MASSENA - Village police ticketed Allen J. Martin, 20, of County Route 36, Norfolk, for failure to wear his seatbelt at 6:15 p.m. Saturday following a traffic stop on North Main Street.

SPEEDING - MASSENA - Village police ticketed Emily A. Snyder, 21, of Perkins Road, Massena, fro speed in zone (45/30) following a traffic stop at 5:21 p.m. Saturday on Maple Street.

INADEQUATE BRAKE LAMPS - MASSENA - Village police ticketed Tina L. Burdick, 34, of Bishop Avenue. Massena, for operating a vehicle with inadequate brake lamps at 5:12 p.m. Saturday following a traffic stop on Parker Avenue.
