Norfolk man charged with stealing copper from landlord

PETIT LARCENY - NORFOLK - St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department deputies charged Tyler R. Paige, 24, of 114 Fisher Road, Norfolk, with petit larceny and second-degree criminal contempt Sunday following an investigation into a copper theft complaint from the Jenner Road in the town of Lisbon. He allegedly stole approximately 36 pounds from his former employer and landlord in the town of Lisbon and exchanged the copper for cash. He is scheduled to appear in Lisbon Town Court to answer that charge. Deputies said their investigation into the incident is continuing with additional items reportedly stolen from the town of Norfolk. During the larceny investigation, deputies discovered Paige was violating an order of protection issued June 21 by Norfolk Town Justice George C. Grubee directing him to stay away from a protected person following a domestic dispute arrest. He was arraigned on the criminal contempt count by Louisville Town Justice Michael Lecuyer and released on his own recognizance.
