Craig A. Wheeler, 59, North Shore Rd., Pillar Point, passed away Friday, July 26th at the Samaritan Medical Center following a brief illness.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours per his wishes. Contributions may be made to the Pillar Point Volunteer Fire Department. Arrangements are with the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home, Watertown.

Craig was born in Watertown, October 17, 1953, a son to Alden and Sybil Wheeler. He graduated from Watertown High School in 1971 and attended Jefferson Community College.

Craig started working for the Kinney Drug Store family part time while in high school. He worked his way through the company as a store manager, later district manager and retired in April of this year as Point of Sale Director for the entire store chain based in Gouverneur. Craig enjoyed bowling and golfing.

He married Jill Bestor, August 19, 1978 at the Church of the Redeemer in Watertown.

Craig is survived by his wife Jill; two daughters Jade (James) Sorensen, Fayetteville, NC; Jenna (Matthew) Alexander, Watertown. Four grandchildren Caelyn, Jackson and Emmalyn Alexander and Harper Sorensen. His mother Sybil Hartness, Buffalo; a sister Lynne (Rick) Jones, Buffalo. Nieces and nephews. A brother Wayne predeceased him.
