SRF-SLC closes Malone Summer Basketball League regular season with OT win over BMC

MALONE - SRF-SLC closed out the Malone Summer Basketball League regular season by outlasted BMC 51-49 in overtime this past Monday at the Franklin Academy gym.

With the win, SRF-SLC finished in second place in the standings at 5-1 behind Malone which capped an undefeated regular season by outscoring BMC 62-53. The other game of the night saw Salmon River (2-4) turn back Chateaugay 43-35.

All five teams will now gear up for the post-season tournament slated for next Monday starting at 5 p.m.

SRF-SLC 51, BMC 49 (OT): Josh White led the winning offense with 19 points followed by Tyler Daggett with 10, Corey LaBounty with nine and Cody Meacham with seven.

Taylor Tallman paced BMC (0-6) with 11 points. Alex Burnett tossed through another 10 and Adam Martin finished with seven.

Malone 62, BMC 53: Austin Lamay led a balanced Malone (6-0) offense with 16 points. Jordan Yando chipped in 14 followed by Chris Poupore with 13, Alex Johnson with eight and Cameron Gallagher with seven.

Alex Burnett connected for 12 points in the losing effort. Zach Burnett added nine while Bryan Aubrey stuck for another eight. Martin and Tallman contributed seven points each along with Jason LeBlanc.

Salmon River 43, Chateaugay 35: Antoine Domino led all scorers with 15 points in the winning cause while Zach Smith struck for eight points.

Chad Stalter paced Chateaugay (2-4) with nine points followed by Seth Young with eight.

MONDAY’S PLAYOFF SCHEDULE

BMC vs. Salmon River 5 p.m., SRF-SLC vs. Chateaugay 6 p.m., Winner BMC/Salmon River vs. Malone 7 p.m., Winner SRF-SLC/Chateaugay vs. Winner BMC/Salmon River/Malone 8 p.m.
