UNLAWFUL IMPRISONMENT - POTSDAM - Village police charged Joseph L. Rotella, 24, of Potsdam with second-degree unlawful imprisonment, third-degree attempted assault and second-degree harassment at 9:22 a.m. Friday at 38 Main St. He was arraigned in the village of Potsdam Court and released under the supervision of St. Lawrence County The charges stemmed from an investigation into an incident that took place July 29.During the incident, Rotella reportedly struck the victim numerous times in the body and head. The victim reportedly suffered bruising to the arms, chest, back, and legs.
During the course of the physical altercation,Rotella reportedly restrained the victim against a bed and threw the victims vehicle keys to prevent the victim from leaving the location of the incident, police said.
