Funeral services for Julia M. Cosentino, age 85 of the Lee Road Ogdensburg will be held 10:00am on Monday (Aug 5, 2013) at St. Marys Cathedral with Rev. Joseph Morgan, Rector officiating. Her place of rest will be at Foxwood Memorial Park.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8pm at the Fox & Murray Funeral Home. Mrs. Cosentino passed away at the Riverledge Nursing Home on Thursday Aug 1, 2013). Arrangements are under the care of Fox & Murray Funeral Home.
Surviving is her husband Joseph; three adopted sons Michael Venti of California, Thomas & Kimberly Venti of Pennsylvania, Vincent Venti of Florida; her sister Helen Rogers of Morristown; and 124 nieces & nephews. Four brothers Stanley, Anthony, John & Mitchell Donaleski along with six sisters Gladys Demperio, Sofia Casale, Mary Venti, Stella Arnold, Elizabeth Daigle and Anna Ames predeceased her.
Julia was born on November 1, 1927 in Pyrites, NY a daughter of the late John & Anna (Kinder) Donaleski. She attended St. Marys Academy and Ogdensburg Free Academy for her education and married Joseph Cosentino on May 22, 1948 at St. Cecilia Church in Solvay, NY with Rev. Denty officiating their marriage.
Julia was employed at the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center for 30 years in the dining room and retired in 1983. She was Vice-President for CSEA for both active & retired employees, past president of the Knight of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary, a present historian for the Knights of Columbus and a member of Fort La Presentation. Julia loved to dance in younger years and shared many awards with Joe as they were NYS champions for many years. She also enjoyed crocheting, knitting, cooking, traveling, taking bus trips and spending time with her devoted husband.
