To The Editor:
I have an idea that could save the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center: take underprivileged kids from inner cities such as Albany, Syracuse, Buffalo, and New York City and build additional buildings on the grounds of SLPC to give them proper nutrition, and teach them such things as carpentry, masonry, cooking, fishing and hunting.
Our county has plenty of space and plenty of land so we can teach them these things. If they must return to New York City they will have proper instruments and education so they will live better, more productive and prosperous lives.
This will not be easy, but with staff supervision closely keeping an eye on them, I feel this could be done.
