WADDINGTON - William J. Brown, 83 of Geneva St. Waddington died Wednesday afternoon (August 14, 2013) at his home surrounded by his loving family and Hospice care.

As per William’s wishes he has donated his body to science for medical studies. There will be no services; burial with full military honors will be at a later date. Contributions in Bill’s memory may be made to the Waddington Volunteer Fire Department or Rescue Squad.

Surviving William is beloved wife June, son William Jr. and wife Karin of Fredericksburg, VA, daughters; Sheryl and Ramon Guzman of Rochester, Sheila and Ralph De Palma of Highland Park, Tina Brown and Jade Harper of Heuvelton and Tammy Brown and Ray Leigh of Warren, 12 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, brother Donald of Tampa, FL, brother in law William O. Murray of Waddington many nieces and nephews. William was preceded in death by a son Mickey 2006 brother; George and a sister Eileen Murray.

William was born in Waddington February 28, 1930 the son of the late William F. and Ethel (Murphy) Brown. Following his education in local schools he served in the Korean War and was stationed on the USS Missouri for three and a half years.

After that, he started his work career at Alcoa working as a transporter retiring in 1991.

He married M. June Wilson June 8, 1951 in Portsmouth, VA. Bill was a 25 Year Club member of Alcoa. He served the Waddington community in many ways; Waddington Volunteer Fire Department, Past Fire Chief, past member of the Waddington Town Board, he served on the Village Code Enforcement officer and was a member of the American legion Post # 420 serving as Vice Commander.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Phillips Memorial Home, Waddington.
