A Watertown man faces drug and resisting-arrest charges following an incident early Monday in which he allegedly tried to flee from officers who were investigating a report of suspicious activity.
Anthony S. Bidwell, 19, of 245 N. Rutland St., Apt. 2, was charged by Watertown police about 1:30 a.m. with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, resisting arrest and second-degree obstruction of justice.
Police said he threw a bottle containing 83 Alprazolam pills in a yard when police were questioning him. He also is accused of pulling away from officers, attempting to flee and refusing to obey verbal commands. Police said the pills were stolen from Lisa Latour.
He was taken to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building pending arraignment.
