Gouverneur man charged with criminal contempt and reckless endangerment

HAILESBORO — Jeremiah A. Matice, 30, of 88 Prospect St., Gouverneur, was charged by state police with criminal contempt, menacing, reckless endangerment and driving while intoxicated Friday night.

Police said Mr. Matice violated an order of protection against his former girlfriend during a domestic dispute on Main Street in Hailesboro that led to his pushing and punching her.

Police said Mr. Matice drove off in his vehicle after attempting to hit the woman with his car.

Mr. Matice’s blood alcohol content was 0.12 percent, police said, and he is scheduled to appear in Fowler Town Court.
