Def Jam and Ghize’s Tavern produced one of the most enjoyable Co-Ed Softball Leagues this summer in Ogdensburg.

What started out with five teams finished with two but Def Jam and Ghize’s gathered every Sunday for fun in the sun and some rain of course. Def Jam won the championship 27-15 on Sunday evening at Monnet Park with excellent sportsmanship on both sides.

“Both teams are champs for sticking it out,” said the league organizer who presented the trophy to both teams.

During the game, Ashley Baker delivered a homerun and a triple and Scott Thompson belted a homerun for Def Jam. Regina Bessette scored five times while Jamie Wallace scored four. Bill Jones and Les Bray had homeruns for Ghize’s. Kevin Shaver scored three times.

Def Jam included Jason Riddle, Regina Bresette, Scott Thompson, Ashley Baker, Jamie Wallace, Barb Miller, Jimmy Trombley, Jessica Measheaw, Margret Smith, and Tiana Silbley.

Ghizes included Chelsea Bray, Nate Shaver, Stacie Downey, Les Bray, Kristine Williams, Bill Jones, Emily Mitchell, Jessica Bray, Joly Paige, Kevin Shaver, and Scott Wilhelm.
