■ CAPE VINCENT — The town will hold a public hearing to gather feedback on the proposed expansion of Water District 6 at 6 p.m. Sept. 5 at the Cape Vincent Recreation Park, James Street.

n PORT LEYDEN — The Bible Baptist Church is seeking state Supreme Court approval to sell its former rectory at 3359 Elm St. for $30,000 to Connie McCall, who has submitted a purchase offer for the property.

n H.T. Wiley Intermediate School, Washington Street, will hold an orientation for incoming fifth-graders from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday. Those with questions about the orientation event can call the school’s front desk at 785-3780.

n The Watertown City Council has approved an $18,000 contract with the Figure Skating Club of Watertown and a $45,500 contract with the Watertown Minor Hockey Association for bulk ice time for next season at the Watertown Municipal Arena at the Alex T. Duffy Fairgrounds.

n The Jefferson-Lewis Childcare Project, which is overseen by the Community Action Planning Council of Jefferson County, recently made its fall workshop schedule available to child-care providers. For training workshop information, call the agency at 782-4900, ext. 237.
