CANTON: Lisa D. Hoy, 45, of Woods Drive died Saturday August 24 at her home surrounded by her loving family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 11:00 AM at St. Mary’s Church, Canton. Calling hours will be held at the Lawrence Funeral Home, Park Street, Canton on Monday afternoon from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. Burial Will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Mrs. Hoy was born in Brockville, Ontario, a daughter of John and Theresa (Beaudoin) Arcand in 1968. She is a 1991 graduate of St. Lawrence University where she had been a captain of the women’s hockey team. She also earned a Masters Degree in Environmental Toxicology from Trent University, Peter borough, Ontario. She and her husband, Peter Hoy, were married in Brockville, Ont. in 1997.

Surviving beside her husband are her two daughters Madison G. Hoy and Ava J. Hoy both at home; her mother Theresa Arcand of Prescott, Ontario; a brother Paul and Cathy Arcand of Prescott, Ont.; a sister, Shelley and Ivo Malovic of Brockville, Ont.; a brother-in-law Michael and Ann Hoy of Kemptville, Ont., a sister-in-law Janet Hoy of Toronto, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, John Arcand, father-in-law Jack Hoy, and her special grandmother Geraldine Arcand.

Lisa will be remembered for her courageous six year battle with cancer and most notably as a loving and wonderful mother.
