The four Section 10 athletes combined forces with several Section 3 players on the Stars team and finished ninth out of the 43-team field at the national event. The Stars completed the tournament with a 5-2 record, defeating the Cleveland (Ohio) Hurricanes 4-2, Rhode Island Pride 10-0 and Michigan Lookout 3-2 in 8 innings. The Stars lost 3-0 to the Michigan Bulldogs, rebounded with a 12-4 thumping of the Pennsylvania Thunder and an 8-7 win over the Ohio Crush. The National run ended for the North Country girls in the double elimination tournament in game 7 to the Michigan Silver Ice, falling 9-6. (Macaulay Photo)
