Two charged in theft of restaurant furniture

POTSDAM — Potsdam police charged Max A. Tyler, 21, West Monroe, and Nathaniel B. Burgess, 21, Gouverneur, on Sunday with fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a class A misdemeanor.

Police said the arrests came at 2:29 a.m. Monday after they observed the two men run from The Hop restaurant on Market Street, cross Maple Street and enter Ives Park, each in possession of a metal stool belonging to the restaurant.

Both men are scheduled to appear in Potsdam Village Court.
