To The Editor:
Thanks to the nice weather on Aug. 10 the Brasshorse Grille was able to have our fourth annual Bikers vs. Cancer event.
A huge thank you to the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino for their donation, which they do every year. Their donations help out with the prizes for the motorcycles in the event. The bikers do a bike run in the morning and then come back to the Brasshorse where the bikers set up their bikes for voting. We had vendors that set up their products to sell, kids games, bounce house, concession stand, tattoo parlor and a DJ that played in the afternoon from 12-4 p.m. We also had a chicken wing eating contest with awards to follow at 4 p.m.
The monies taken in will be distributed to five groups this year: Hope Lodge, Akwesasne Cancer Support Group, MMH Oncology Clinic, Norm Thibadeau and Tinas Pride.
This year almost $6,000 was raised along with an extra $100 for Hope Lodge. This $100 was donated by Edith Adams in memory of Charlene Cole.
