CLAYTON — The Thousand Islands Performing Arts Fund will present “Assisted Living: The Musical” at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Clayton Opera House.

The musical promises many laughs, starting with the opening scene, in which a newly departed couple is greeted in the afterlife by Tiny Tim when they were expecting Elvis. Two actors portray the 18 characters in the show.

“Assisted Living: The Musical” opened in Naples, Fla., in 2009. The San Francisco Examiner called it “wickedly funny.”

The two actors in the show, produced by Gray Matters, are Rick Compton and Betsy Bennett. In the last 15 years, Compton and Bennett have created a dozen original musicals. They wrote the songs for “Assisted Living.”

Musical numbers in the show include “Help! I’ve Fallen For You (And I Can’t Get Up),” “Everything is Swell Again at Pelican Roost,” “I Got the ‘Lost-My-Dentures-on-Steak-Night’ Blues” and “The Uplifting Viagra Medley.”

Tickets are $20 and $25 and are on sale at the Clayton Opera House box office at 405 Riverside Drive, by calling the box office at 686-2200 or by going to the opera house website at www.clay tonoperahouse.com/.
