Mary A. Corridore, beloved widow of Salvatore Corridore and devoted mother of Elisa Corridore, Gianna Flannery, and John Corridore, passed away Monday, September 2nd at St. Regis Nursing Home in Massena. Mary was 85, a resident of Potsdam NY for 52 years and married to Sal for almost 61 years.

Born in New York City, Mary graduated from the Parson’s School of Design. Prior to and for a time after marrying Sal, Mary was a designer for Christian Dior. Not only was she a talented designer and seamstress, but also a singer, pianist, and of course, wonderful cook. However, for those that knew her, Mary will most be remembered by her beautiful smile, love and devotion to her husband and family, her warm and welcoming demeanor, her style, and a spirit greater than her presence.

Mary and Sal came to Potsdam in 1961, and it was there she raised their three children. In 1974 she opened and managed Park View Hairstyling in Canton and became a part of the community for almost 20 years.

Mary is also survived by her sister Joan Cappelleri, son-in-law Gerry Flannery, daughter-in-law Lori Corridore and grandsons, Bryan Flannery and Vittorio Corridore.

Mary’s ashes will be laid to rest in Brooklyn, New York at the Green-Wood Cemetery, next to her parents Maria and Giovanni Interligi. A joint memorial service for Mary and Sal will be held on October 8th at the Garner Funeral Home, in Potsdam from 2-4pm and 7-9pm.
