OGDENSBURG — State Street neighbors are the September honorees for the Greater Ogdensburg Chamber of Commerce’s monthly Gateways and Corridors awards for business and home facade improvement.

Little Italy Pizzeria, 900 State St., and the home of Kathleen A. and Donald C. Wylie, 911 State St., will receive the awards.

Chamber Executive Director Sandra M. Porter said Little Italy owner Joseph Cammisano has “transformed” the area with his restaurant and the site of a former gas station next door that has been converted into an additional parking lot.

“Which he improved tremendously,” Ms. Porter said Wednesday. “The whole area looks really nice.”

Mr. Cammisano was unavailable for comment Wednesday.

The Wylies have just finished renovating and painting the exterior of their home, and interior work is underway.

“It kind of brightens up the neighborhood,” Ms. Porter said.

“We’re very honored,” Mr. Wylie said Wednesday. “It makes us feel good to be part of that group.”

Mr. Wylie and his wife have lived in the home for 24 years, following his parents, who lived in the house for 20 years. He brush-painted the two-story house with his son, Jeremy J.
