A Syracuse man was arrested on drug charges in Ogdensburg Wednesday following a routine traffic stop.
Shakir S. Boatman, 19, of Syracuse, was ticketed by the Sheriffs Office at 1:15 p.m. for failing to keep right and tinted windows. Narcotics Enforcement Unit Members then arrested Mr. Boatman for allegedly selling crack cocaine in the city.
He was charged with third-degree criminal sale of a
controlled substance, a Class B felony.
Mr. Boatman was arraigned in Ogdensburg City Court and released under the supervision of the probation.
The passenger in Mr. Boatmans vehicle was released at the scene.
The Ogdensburg Police Departments Narcotics Unit, St. Lawrence County Sheriffs Department K-9 Unit, and members of the St. Lawrence County Drug Task Force assisted in the arrest.
