GOUVERNEUR Registration is open for the 2013 Ryans Wish Foundation Golf Tournament Sept. 15 at 1 p.m. at Emerald Greens Golf Course. The golf tournament is in memory of Ryan Saidel, who lost his battle with cancer on Feb. 7, 2004. Ryan defined the word courage as he lived his life inspiring others to make the best of each and every day.
The Ryans Wish Foundation, created to celebrate Ryans inspirational life, is dedicated to helping others who are battling a serious illness to play and live strong. Funds received from the foundation can help offset traveling costs and other expenses incurred by individuals and their families during treatment or hospitalization. The foundation has helped more than 70 people and their families.
The 13-hole event thats right, 13 holes will be a four-person, captain and crew format.
The entry is $140 per team or $35 per person, which includes a steak dinner with homemade pie for dessert. A dinner donation for those who are not playing golf is $15.
