MASSENA: Carolyn M. “Auntie” Morin, of N. Main St. and most recently of Highland Nursing Home, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013 at Massena Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Carolyn was born on Sept. 7, 1929 in Massena the daughter of Frank and Rose (Spadafore) Greco. She was a Massena High School graduate. She then went to work at Fishman’s Store and in later years worked as a sales clerk at Levine’s Clothing Store until retiring in 1991. Carolyn married Joseph A. Morin on September 1, 1962 at Sacred Heart Church with Rev. Maurice O’Neil presiding. He predeceased her on July 9, 1995. Carolyn enjoyed her family and had many friends and family parties. She had often hosted family bingo nights with fried pizza dough. She also loved taking car rides. Her grandchildren were her main reason for living and were her pride and joy until her very last day. Carolyn’s survivors include her two daughters, Jean and husband Richard Centrella of Massena and Rosanne and husband Bill Bergan of Potsdam, two grandchildren, Billy J. and Caroline Bergan of Potsdam, a sister in-law Aline Greco of Massena, and a cousin Carolyn (Macri) Chase. She was predeceased by two brothers, Louis and Joseph Greco. Memorial contributions may be made to the Massena Rescue Squad, Hospice & Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley, or Trinity Catholic Endowment Fund. Friends and family may call on Friday, Sept. 13, 2013 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at Phillips Memorial Home, 64 Andrews St. Massena. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Sat. Sept. 14, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church with Rev. Scott D. Fobare presiding. Interment will be to follow in Calvary Cemetery.
