Lyonsdale primary results updated, but no changes in placement

LOWVILLE — Lewis County election officials have updated results from town of Lyonsdale Republican primaries.

Vote totals posted Tuesday night for highway superintendent and council races inadvertently included only results from one of three election districts, but the update did not change candidate placement.

Unofficial results now have Terry L. Swiernik defeating Theodore D. Mooney in a GOP primary for highway superintendent, 85-18. And in a four-way GOP primary for council, incumbents William L. Marmon with 69 votes and Nancy O’Brien-Dailey with 45 were the top two vote-getters, followed by John L. Smith with 44 and David Butts with 32.

Absentee votes, slated to be counted next Thursday, could change the council results, as seven ballots were issued and four have been returned.

A GOP primary for Croghan assessor also could be affected, as there have been 10 absentee votes returned, and Assessor Amos A. Noftsier leads Deanna K. Hoch, 39-36.
