Two former OFA football standouts and recipients of the Don Petty Memorial Award have enjoyed fine starts to their 2013 collegiate seasons.

Jared Morrow helped Hartwick to a 1-0 start at the Division III level while Cam Allison helped Eastern Michigan to a 1-1 start at the Division I level.

JARED MORROW

Hartwick College Head Coach Mark Carr’s (12th year) is optimistic about the 2013 season with his goal being simple. “We want to win the Empire 8,” Carr said.

Junior Jared Morrow (6’ 210) will play a key role the Eagles’ optimism as the starting free safety and punter.

Morrow picked up four tackles in a Saturday’s 33-7 win over Hussein College.

Morrow finished his sophomore season with a flurry intercepting three passes over the last two games with two against Ithaca College. Other highlights included 11 hits against Utica College, nine tackles against Salisbury and a forced fumble and a fumble recovery against Morrisville.

Morrow will once again be the team’s punter. He had 43 punts last year for 1579 yards with three of those sailed over 50 yards (career long 59) and six nailed inside the 20 yard-line.

CAM ALLISON

A red shirt junior, the 6’ 6” 316-pound Cam Allison started at right guard in an 34-24 opening day win over Howard and saw action in the offensive line in a 45-7 loss to Penn State. EMU plays at Rutgers on Saturday.

Allison played in all 12 games last season and started in nine at right guard and one at left tackle. As a freshman he appeared in 12 games starting at seven, five at right tackle and two at left guard.
