To The Editor:

The fouth annual Alcoa Employee Food Drive 5K Run / Walk is scheduled for Oct. 12 at Robert Moses State Park, Massena, beginning at 9 a.m. The course starts at Barnhart Beach and winds through the Marina and new camping area.

For the past three years we have been blessed with beautiful fall weather; we expect nothing less this year.

Walkers and runners are encouraged to participate in this event which benefits St. Vincent DePaul, Meals on Wheels, Salvation Army and the Massena Neighborhood Center. This year we are honoring Frank Vida, a 1990 retiree from Reynolds Metals, who participated in our first two races. We invite Frank’s past co-workers, friends and family members to celebrate with him on this special day.

Registration forms can be found on the Massena Chamber of Commerce Website (www.massenachamber.com) or by contacting either Tom Seguin (769-6781) or Jane Mogle-Besaw (764-6332). The entry fee for registrations postmarked by Sept. 20 is $15 for adults and $8 for children 12 & under. After the 20th, the fee increases to $20 for adults and $10 for children. To insure you receive a coveted long sleeve tee shirt, we recommend registering before Friday, Sept. 20th. Tee shirts will be given to the first 200 registrants.

Hope to see you all on the 12th of October for a breath taking walk or run through the woods of Robert Moses State Park.

Tom Seguin and Jane Mogle-Besaw
