FL roundup: Copenhagen boys soccer edges Sackets Harbor

SACKETS HARBOR — Connor Eddy scored in the 96th minute as Copenhagen rallied to edge Sackets Harbor, 2-1 in double overtime on Thursday in Frontier League “D” Division boys soccer.

Antonio Figueroa sparked the comeback by scoring unassisted in the 43rd minute and assisted on Eddy’s game-winner for the Golden Knights (4-0 overall, 3-0 league).

Goalkeepers Robbie Groff and Brandon Buckley combined for four saves for Copenhagen.

The Golden Knights will host unbeaten division foe Lyme at 11 a.m. on Saturday.

Ryan Allen scored the lone goal for the Patriots (1-2), and Alex Keegan finished with 13 saves.

LYME 6, BELLEVILLE HENDERSON 0

Troy Wilson scored two goals and assisted on two others as the Indians blanked the Panthers in a “D” Division game in Chaumont.

Tanner Wiley totaled a goal and three assists for Lyme (4-0), while Caden Sanford and Sam Liakhovitch also scored for the Indians.

Lyme’s Christian Sanford made four saves.

ALEXANDRIA 6, LAFARGEVILLE 3

Nick Shangraw recorded two goals and a pair of assists as the Purple Ghosts rallied for a “D” Division win at LaFargeville.

Tristan Thomson contributed two goals and an assist for Alexandria (1-3), which yielded the game’s first two goals.

Jordan VanBrocklin contributed a goal and two assists for the Purple Ghosts, and Brodix Gill chipped in with a goal and an assist.

Hunter Sammons scored three goals for the Red Knights.

INDIAN RIVER 7, GENERAL BROWN 0

Kyle Smith scored two goals and posted two assists as the Warriors stayed unbeaten with a crossover victory in Dexter.

Junior Malinoski totaled two goals and an assist for Indian River (3-0), and Ben Godin scored two goals.

The Warriors’ Hunter Mullican made five saves.

IHC 3, SOUTH JEFFERSON 2

Austin Renzi and Jude Fusilli each scored an unassisted goal in the second half as the host Cavaliers held off the Spartans for a crossover victory.

Jake Fusilli also scored for IHC (4-0), while Jarrod Smith made five saves.

Pete Lumley made eight saves for South Jefferson (1-3, 1-2).

WATERTOWN 7, SANDY CREEK/PULASKI 0

Matt and David Olney each finished with a goal and an assist to carry the host Cyclones to a crossover victory.

Mina Rezkallah added a pair of late goals for Watertown (4-0).

LOWVILLE 2, CARTHAGE 1

Nate Mooney and Ryan Wood each scored within a span of 3 1/2 minutes in the second half as the Red Raiders (2-2) rallied for a crossover win at Carthage.

Devin Lajoie tallied an unassisted goal for the Comets (0-4).

GIRLS SOCCER

LOWVILLE 3, CARTHAGE 0

Isabelle Hanno scored a goal and assisted on another as the unbeaten Red Raiders blanked the Comets in a crossover game at Lowville.

Alexis Bach made eight saves for Lowville (3-0), which has shut out its first three opponents, all “A” Division teams.

Selena Beller and Kelsey Sammon also scored for the Red Raiders in the completion of a game suspended on Wednesday night because of lightning.

Becky Brandal made 13 saves for Carthage (2-1-1).

THOUSAND ISLANDS 3, SANDY CREEK 1

Morgan Robbins scored three goals, including a pair of tin the first half, to propel the Vikings to a “C” Division victory at Sandy Creek.

Goalie Aliceson Cornaire made nine saves for Thousand Islands (3-0).

GIRLS SWIMMING

WATERTOWN 104, SOUTH JEFFERSON 82

Julia Marilley captured the 50- freestyle and 100-yard butterfly to lead the Cyclones past the Spartans in an “A” Division meet in Adams.

Sisters Emily and Allison Medley claimed the breaststroke and backstroke events, respectively, and swam the first two legs of the 200 medley relay win for Watertown (2-1, 2-0).

The Spartans fell to 2-1, 1-1.

THOUSAND ISLANDS 90, BEAVER RIVER 75

Abby Duffy, Darien Frederick and Megan Rupp each won two individual events and swam on a winning relay team to spark the host Vikings to a North “B” Division victory.

Duffy won the 50 and 100 free for Thousand Islands (2-0) and Frederick prevailed in the 200 individual medley as well as the diving. Both swam on the winning 200 freestyle relay team.
