CRIMINAL MISCHIEF - MASSENA - Village police picked up Kevin Lashomb, 46, no known address, on an arrest warrant charging him with fourth-degree criminal mischief and second-degree criminal trespass. He was arraigned by Massena Town Justice Gerald P. Sharlow and sent to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility with bail set at $500 cash. He is also being held on a warrant from Ogdensburg City Court.

The warrant had been signed April 2 by Massena Village Justice Eric J. Gustafson.

Lashomb reportedly damaged the door at the residence of Denise Brothers, 101 Andrews St., Apt. 1, on Feb. 28. He also reportedly entered her apartment without her permission at 2 a.m. Feb. 28.

She told police she had spent the night at a friend’s residence and returned home at 8:30 a.m. Feb. 28 to find Lashomb her front door broken and Lashomb drinking a beer in her living room.

“All my doors were locked when I left. I have let Kevin stay at my apartment about four times in the last two months. At no time have I given him permission to come into my apartment when it is locked. He does not have a key to my apartment ...,” Ms. Brothers said in a statement she signed for police at the time of the incident.

“I have known him for years and felt bad for him because he is homeless,” she said, noting the previous week she had to call the rescue squad when Lashomb overdosed in her apartment.



DOG AT LARGE - MASSENA - Village police charged Mark Kormanyos, 56, of 28 Prospect St., Massena, with one count of allowing a dog to run at large and four counts of having an unlicensed dog following an investigation conducted by the dog control officer. Kormanyos reportedly had a dog that broke out of his yard and killed a cat at 29 Prospect St. Kormanyos was released on an appearance ticket for Oct. 23 in Massena Village Court.



CELL PHONE - MASSENA - Village police ticketed Timothy Lamora, 53, of Worchester, Mass., for using a cell phone while operating a motor vehicle at 11:27 a.m. Saturday following a traffic stop on East Orvis Street.
