Birthday: Irene Timerman, Limerick, celebrated her 90th birthday on Aug. 22 at Diane’s Coffee Shop, Dexter.

Ms. Timerman was born in Canada and moved to Northern New York as a child.

She enjoys her fall bowling league and lives in Limerick with her granddaughter, Ginny.

Her son, Ronnie, lives with his wife on Wellesley Island, and her grandson, Andy, lives with his wife in Chaumont.

Scholarship: Sara Tyo, recent graduate of Massena Central School, received a $500 Dave Corse Scholarship from the Friends of the Nature Center in Massena. The scholarship is given to a graduating senior at Massena Central School planning to study environmental sciences in honor of Dave Corse, a volunteer who made a large impact on the Nature Center at Robert Moses State Park for more than a decade. Miss Tyo will study at SUNY-ESF and major in environmental biology at Syracuse University.

To receive dean’s list honors at Keuka College for the spring semester, students must receive a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.

Studying abroad: Molli M. Richards, Massena, will study abroad in London for the fall semester through St. Lawrence University, Canton. Miss Richards is a graduate of Massena Central School.
