LOWVILLE After receiving no bids for the purchase and removal of a storage building on the site of the proposed county building on outer Stowe Street, and only one to construct a new building a few hundred yards away, Lewis County legislators may consider going back to their original plans to pay for the relocation of the storage building. Previous estimates showed relocating the structure to be cost prohibitive.
Were going to do more rechecking of our first option, said legislative Chairman Michael A. Tabolt, R-Croghan.
The 50-by-100-foot storage building sits southwest of the Public Safety Building and must be removed to allow construction of the new building, which would house several county offices. Legislators expect to open bids for the construction of the new county office building Thursday.
