Henderson- Duane J. Zehr, 80, Harborview Apts, Henderson, passed away Wednesday, September 18th at the Samaritan Medical Center where he had been a patient since September 7th.

The funeral will be 6 pm Friday, September 20th at the Carpenter-Stoodley Funeral Home, Belleville. Burial will be for the convenience of the family in Woodville Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday from 4 pm – 6 pm at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to the Belleville Volunteer Fire Department.

Duane was born in Alden, NY, May 12, 1933, a son to Harold and Lana Zehr. Following his education, he was employed at dairy farms in the area to include the Howard Brown farm for 25 years and the Dee McConnell farm in Pierrepont Manor, NY, retiring in the late 1980’s.

Duane was an avid bowler, bowling the first 700 series at South Jeff Lanes in 1975. He coached Senior League baseball and loved to play cards.

He is survived by four sons and their wives, Wayne and Dawn, Ellisburg; David and Linda, Mannsville; Kevin and Fawn, Adams; Ronald E. and Karen, Mannsville. His grandchildren Ashley, Derek, Hunter, Jeremy, Jason, Jessica, Steven, Cassandra and Robert. Seven great grandchildren. A brother and sister-in-law, Ken and Audrey, Harrisburg, VA. Nieces and nephews. Two brothers Earle and Abram, and a sister-in-law, Ardie Zehr, predeceased him.
