A second Ogdensburg forgery suspect has been arraigned and jailed.
Melissa L. McLear, 31, 623 State St., same address, was arraigned Tuesday in city court and ordered held in St. Lawrence County jail, Canton, on $5,000 cash bail/$10,000 bond.
She was arrested Tuesday by Ogdensburg police and charged with three counts of D felony second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, three counts of A misdemeanor fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and one count of A misdemeanor seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
Jesse G. Austin, 34, same address was arrested, charged with one count of D felony second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument and one count of A misdemeanor fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property.
He was arraigned and sent to the county jail on $20,000 cash bail/$40,000 bond.
Police said the arrests stemmed from investigation when Dr. James Edmond, Clifton Park, discovered that prescriptions that he hadnt endorsed had been stolen from his office, forged and then filled by the two suspects for Ritalin and Suboxone at pharmacies in Ogdensburg.
Mr. Austin and Ms. McLear are due in court for preliminary hearings on Friday.
