P-H, N-N boys soccer teams net NAC East wins


Parishville-Hopkinton outscored St. Lawrence Central 4-1 while Norwood-Norfolk knocked off Brushton-Moira 2-0 in NAC East Division varsity boys soccer encounters on Thursday.

P-H 4, SLC 1: In Parishville, the Panthers scored all four of their goals before halftime starting when Joey Jacot converted from Wyatt Snell in the sixth minute. Preston Frank made it 2-0 assisted by Snell in the 14th minute. Snell netted the third P-H goal just three minutes later off an assist from Charlie Anderson before Justin Frank closed out the scoring for the Panthers when he connected from Chase Simmons with just over 11 minutes left.

The Panthers saw the bid to earn their first shutout end 24 minutes into the second half when a long lead into the penalty area was inadvertently knocked into the back of the net by a defender for an own goal.

Kobe Wells made seven saves working the crease in the win as the Panthers improved to 5-1 overall and 3-1 in the East. Hadyn St. Hilaire stopped 10 shots for the Larries (1-4).

N-N 2, B -M 0: In Brushton, the Flyers scored two goals less than six minutes apart early in the second half to come away with their first league win. Coby Munson struck for the eventual game-winner off an assist from Ian St. Andrews in the seventh minute. Zeb Brown added the insurance goal in the 13th minute assisted by Munson.

Garrett Waite fielded the six shots he faced to earn the shutout while Taylor Tallman logged five stops for the Panthers (0-3).


A trio of NAC West Division games played on Thursday saw Harrisville blank Hermon-DeKalb 4-0, Lisbon stop Edwards-Knox 3-1 and Morristown overpower Clifton-Fine 7-1.
