A Syracuse man was charged by Watertown police with false personation after he allegedly gave a false name during a traffic stop.

Christopher E. Hickey, 24, gave a false name after being stopped on the 1700 block of Huntington Street for speeding, police said.

He also was given multiple tickets for equipment violations and driving without a license, police said.

Charged just after midnight Saturday, he was released on $500 police bail with an appearance ticket for City Court.
