Motorists accused of drunken driving


The following were charged with driving while intoxicated and related offenses:

n Kevin H. Eddy, 19, of 23842 Route 37, town of Pamelia, was charged by state police with felony DWI Friday afternoon on Route 11 in Antwerp, where he was stopped for speeding. The DWI charge is a felony because of a prior conviction within the past 10 years.

His BAC was listed as 0.10 percent. A BAC of 0.08 percent or more is considered proof of intoxication under state law.

n Richard P. Babcock, 41, of 59 Main St., Moira, also was charged by state police with aggravated unlicensed operation early Sunday on Route 37, Massena, where he was stopped for failing to keep right.

Police said his license had been suspended for failure to pay child support.

His BAC was listed as 0.17 percent.

nChristopher J. Sherwin, 45, of 208 Morris St., Morristown, was charged by state police early Saturday.

Police said Mr. Sherwin was driving on Route 37 in Morristown when he struck a guardrail and left the scene.

He parked his vehicle at Parkway Express, 1111 Champlin St., Ogdensburg, and reported the accident, police said.

His BAC was listed as 0.08 percent.

n Jason C. Vincent, 29, Route 458, Nicholville, was charged by state police Friday evening on Mill Street in Nicholville. Police said that Mr. Vincent’s vehicle was stopped on the shoulder and that there were several open alcohol containers in the car.

His BAC was listed as 0.12 percent.

n John W. Santarsiero, 39, Rooseveltown, also was charged Sept. 16 by state police with moving from lane unsafely and drinking alcohol in a motor vehicle after he crashed his car into a guardrail along Route 37 in the town of Massena.

His BAC was listed as 0.08 percent.
