To The Editor:
An open letter to Scott Wilson, CEO, SeaComm FCU:
What are you thinking?
Recently, I read news reports and on-line press releases that SeaComm FCU will be closing their downtown facility to better serve their members.
I have been a member of SeaComm FCU for many years and have been extremely satisfied with their services. I, along, with hundreds of dedicated members have utilized the Main Street bank for day-to-day banking.
With all the energy being expended to revitalize downtown Massena, this will be a body-blow to those efforts. And, surely, SeaComm FCU understands the importance of community support as I see on a weekly basis SeaComm officicals handing out big donations across the county.
Downtown is the heart of Massena, you should be making every effort to strengthen it; not weaken it.
I, along with many others, are very upset by the boards decision to close the Main Street facility. Sadly, well probably have to open an account with the only credit union that will be left in downtown Massena.
And, what about the enormous costs involved in expanding the Stearns Street location? Are you telling credit union members that it will be cheaper to build new office space than to keep the downtown Massena branch open? Really?
