FORT COVINGTON - Setting the stage for a Thursday home showdown against OFA, for the NAC Central Boys Soccer lead, Canton blanked Salmon River on Monday.

Josh Huiatt scored a goal in each half for the Bears who lifted their division record to 4-0. OFA downed Gouverneur 8-0 on Monday.

Huiatt scored off assists by Tanner Sanderson in the first half and Matt Mende on the first goal of the second half.

Jake Facey and Steven Folk scored unassisted goals in the first half and the Golden Bears rounded out the scoring in the second with an unassisted goal by Cody Moore and a Dan Olin marker off Mende’s second assist of the contest.

Scott Wight stopped nine shots in the shutout and Zach Smith handled six shots for Salmon River.
