Hermon-DeKalb sweeps Clifton-Fine in boys and girls soccer action; Edwards-Knox claims first win over Morristown


Hermon-DeKalb swept Clifton-Fine in boys and girls soccer action while Edwards-Knox recorded its first win of the season in a 3-2 overtime decision at Morristown during Tuesday’s NAC West Division soccer.

E-K 3, Morristown 2: Two goals in the first 10 minute overtime session held up for the Cougars.

Darien Fenton scored in the third minute of OT (83rd) unassisted and Harleigh LeBarge scored a minute later also - unassisted to break a 1-1 tie at the end of regulation.

Jessica Geddes made it 3-2 scoring for MCS with two minutes remaining in the second OT (98th).

LeBarge scored on a shot from the 18 yardline on a breakway in the 46th minute but Elizabeth Troiano tied the game for Morristown in the 67th. Kelsey White made nine saves for E-K (1-4, 1-4) and Samantha Green handled 32 shots for Morristown (0-4-1, 0-4-1).

H-D 6, C-F 0: The Eagles played a player down for nearly 70 minutes and the Demons (4-1) capitalized as Brooke Woodrow scored two goals and drew and assist. Bridget Rust scored a goal and drew an assist and Morgan Stott, Rhys Bryant, and Paige Whitton each connected once to back goalie Chelsey Mackay. Dallas Crane made 11 saves for C-F (0-4, 0-4).


H-D 3, C-F 2: Ryan Brown broke a 2-2 deadlock with his second goal of the game in the 73rd minute of the game from Pat Woodrow as the Demons earned their first win.

Cameron Hance tied the game at 2-2 unassisted in the 58th minute and Brown scored on a direct kick in the 28th for H-D’s first goal.

For the Eagles, Alberto Rubio scored from Tony Hayes in the 13th and D’Andre Croker connected from Dillon Martin in the 58th. Zach Robertson made 14 saves for H-D in net and Jordan Planty stopped 17 shots for C-F.
