Two Jefferson County legislators and several local businesses are hosting an event from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at the General Store, 816 Bradley St., to raise funds for a granite bench to memorialize K-9s who have worked for the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department.

Deputies will be on hand to issue free child safety identification cards, give out car seat safety information and show off the county’s four K-9s.

There will also be a bounce house, face painting, hot dogs and beverages, according to Anthony J. Doldo, R-Watertown, who is hosting the event at his place of business along with Legislator Jennie M. Adsit, R-Watertown, Equipment Rentals, Party Rentals, Deli Boy, Pepsi, Frank Roberts and A Cozzi & Company monuments, which will create the bench.

Hot dogs and soda will be sold for $2, the bounce house and face painting will be available for a small donation, Mr. Doldo said.
