Watertown woman accused of causing fatal has December court date


LOWVILLE — A Watertown woman accused of causing a fatal motor vehicle crash involving Lewis County’s senior planner is slated to next appear in court in early December.

Deborah Aguirre-Kerwin, 40, of 1429 Gill St., Apt 446B, was arraigned in late August on charges of aggravated vehicular manslaughter, second-degree manslaughter, driving while ability impaired by drugs, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, failure to keep right and driving left of pavement markings, and pleaded not guilty. She is to appear Dec. 3 before acting Lewis County Court Judge Donald E. Todd.

Ms. Aguirre-Kerwin on April 13 was accused of, while under the influence of carisoprodol and meprobamate, driving into the path of an oncoming vehicle being driven by Renee J. Beyer, 39, on Route 12 in the town of Harrisburg. Mrs. Beyer died April 15 at Upstate Medical University, Syracuse.

Ms. Aguirre-Kerwin also was accused of illicitly possessing other controlled substances.
