Winthrop- Mrs. Kaitlyn Marie Dissottle-Camidge, 23, passed away peacefully at her parents’ home after her courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by the love, comfort, care and support of her family and hospice. Arrangements are entrusted to Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop.

Kaitlyn was born in Winchester, MA on February 20, 1990 to Darrell and Alise (Potenza) Dissottle. She attended St. Lawrence Central School, graduating in 2008. For some time Kaitlyn worked as a food court attendant at the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino.

This past Saturday, September 21, Kaitlyn was able to share in a very special and sacred celebration as she was united into marriage with Cleon Camidge. It was a beautiful and heartfelt day. The nurses and staff of Massachusetts General were exceptional, paying extra attention to every detail for Kaitlyn, Cleon, and their families.

Kaitlyn was blessed with a strong, unique and cheerful spirit. She was always happy, despite the hardships she endured, and her soul remained strong. She was a great Mom whose children, Jaysen and Gianna always came first. Family and friends meant the world to her; she especially enjoyed gatherings when everyone was together. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her husband, Cleon, and their children: Jaysen and Gianna, her parents, Darrell and Alise Dissottle, all of Winthrop, brother, Kyle Dissottle of Winthrop, sister, Brittany Razis of Massena, paternal grandparents, Joseph and Linda Dissottle of Winthrop, maternal grandmother, Arlene Potenza of MA., several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews, and many friends.

She was predeceased by her maternal grandfather, Alfred Potenza.

Visitation will be Friday (Today) from 6-8 and Saturday from 11-1 at the funeral home. Kaitlyn’s Funeral Service and Celebration of Life will be Saturday at 1:00 at the conclusion of visitation.
