MASSENA – Members of the Massena Lions Club will be posted at Post Office of Massena on Main Street from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday to raise funds as part of the annual White Cane Day.
Funds donated by community members will be used to help with cost of eye exams and glasses for those less fortunate within our community, purchase supplies for Adopt a Platoon program, and the upkeep of the local vision screener used to provide free vision screening for pre-K children.
According to Penny Pullmain, president of Massena Lions Club, Money raised on Friday will allow Lions to meet pressing needs in our community including keeping the Wheels Rolling for Meals on Wheels, the pantries of Salvation Army, St. Vincent de Paul, and Neighborhood Center, as well as provide a joint celebration with the K of C Auxiliary for the ARC challenged clients during the holiday season, which is always a joy to all of membership. Lions members thank everyone who contributes to this important work. You are truly helping Lions make a difference in our community.
The Massena Lions Club has 14 members, always looking for new and enthusiastic folks who would love to SERVE their community.
They currently meet at 12:15 p.m. the first and thirrd Wednesday of the month at 12:15 p.m. at Dars Restaurant. Lions clubs are a group of men and women who identify needs within the community and work together to fulfill those needs.
