MASSENA - Annie Clark, owner of “Annie’s Garlic,” presented the planting, growing and harvesting of garlic to the members of the Massena Valley Garden Club at their September meeting held at the Community Center in Massena.

She informed the members and guests of the 10 different types of garlic and their uses. She was pleased to say that she grows all ten selections in her fields.

The Garden Club has around 40 members. The group meets once a month from March to December in different locations. A program is planned ahead of time. The presentation is decided upon by a committee that chooses from the members request. There is a question/answer period at each meeting.

Through the years the club has been very active in Massena. The Garden Club continues to explore new ideas for beautification of Massena. Members also seek out people, such as Annie Clark, for monthly presentations. If you have such a program and think we may be interested, please call Jane Portolese at (315) 769-7383.
