POTSDAM - The Potsdam Central varsity girls volleyball team raised its overall record to 8-1 with an NAC interdivisional sweep at home over Salmon River on Monday.
The Lady Sandstoners, who stand at 5-0 atop the West Division standings, downed the Lady Shamrocks 25-17, 25-17, 25-18 for their third win in four matches against East Division rivals. Victoria Mondragon had 12 service points, including six aces, while working the net for five kills to lead the winning effort. Katie Burke contributed 10 points (1 ace) and seven kills.
For Salmon River (5-4, 2-3), Raven Oakes served up a team-high eight points.
Potsdam returns to action on Wednesday at home against East Division contender Franklin Academy with the varsity match starting at 6 p.m. The Lady Shamrocks play at OFA on Thursday.
In other NAC matches on Monday, Franklin Academy swept past Canton 25-15, 25-12, 25-12 and Tupper Lake hosted Edwards-Knox.
FA 3, Canton 0: In Malone, Cianna Willmart anchored the Canton cause with four points, four digs and one kills. Megan Howard generated three kills and two points while Beth Pearson finished with four digs, two kills, two points and one ace.
