ASSAULT - MASSENA - Village police charged Cory A. Tuper, 27, of 111 Woodlawn Ave., Massena, with second-degree assault at 2:26 a.m. Wednesday after police responded to his residence for a report of a male seeking transport to the hospital for treatment of injuries he had suffered in an altercation.
Mark Lefrancois, 45, told police Tuper had punched him twice in the face and then kicked him approximately a dozen times in the face after he fell to the floor. Police said Lefrancois was transported to Massena Memorial Hospital by Massena Rescue. He reportedly suffered numerous contusions and was bleeding from his eye at the scene of the altercation.
Lefrancois said he had been invited into the residence by Patti Snider but Tuper ordered him to leave. He said Ms. Snider again told him he could stay before Tuper attacked him.
Tuper was arraigned by Massena Village Justice Eric J. Gustafson and sent to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility with bail set at $1,500 cash or $3,000 bond.
