To The Editor:
Disclaimer: This is not a criticism or an attack on Mr. Kidwell personally. He is just doing his job.
My name is James R. Amo and I am vying for a seat on the Ogdensburg City Council. Im writing this letter as a response to an article by Brian Kidwell regarding the criticism of the attendance of the members of the Ogdensburg Zoning Board of Appeals. Someone reading this article, along with the photograph, could get the idea that I am one of the members who doesnt attend regular meetings. I was appointed to the Board in 2009 and reappointed in 2012 for a second term. I have completed all the required training and also have a perfect attendance record since originally being appointed to the Board of Zoning Appeals. I take my obligation as a board member seriously and have worked hard for the citizens of Ogdensburg to make their experience with the Zoning Board a positive and efficient one.
In closing, I just wanted to inform the citizens of Ogdensburg that I have attended, and will attend, every Zoning Board of Appeals meeting, as I feel it is of the utmost importance to be present at every meeting. With the board meeting only once a month, applicants must wait until the day of the meeting to address their issues. If there are only four members present, it becomes a frustrating situation to the applicant and the board members who are present.
If I have the pleasure of being elected to the Ogdensburg City Council, the citizens will be able to count on me 100 percent to attend ALL council meetings.
